Advanced Course in Sacred Art

The Sacred Art School, in collaboration with IUL, Telematic University of Studies, offers a specialization course in Sacred Art aimed at providing theoretical training in the field of sacred and religious art.

Sacred Art is deeply rooted in the Italian culture and traditions, and constitutes a significant percentage of the Italian artistic heritage.

The course is part of a wider path the Master in Sacred Art, which also contains a practical part dedicated to laboratories.

The theoretical training will allow the student to read the sacred art of the past and present time, not only from an aesthetic point of view, but also from a symbolic and theological perspective.

The specialization course provides only the participation in the theoretical part of the online course.

Duration

The specialization course has an annual duration for a total teaching load of 750 hours corresponding to 30 CFU.

Recipients

The postgraduate diploma is aimed at students with a three-year bachelor degree especially in the following fields: arts, architecture, art history, theology.

Graduate students from the Academies of Fine Arts.

It is open to teachers of art, literature, religion at higher education institutions and to those responsible for sacred art in the dioceses.

And finally, to all those who, in possession of a three-year degree, intend to deepen their knowledge of Sacred Art both from a practical point of view, to upgrade their artistic production skills, and a theoretical point of view, to better understand its deeper meaning.

Goals

The Advanced Course is online and provides:

an online theoretical part (IUL training environment): 9 modules for a total of 28 CFU.
a final test in attendance for a total of 2 CFU.

Call for enrollment

At the end of the course and after passing the final test, participants will receive a Postgraduate diploma corresponding to 30 ECTS.

The delivery of the Diploma is subject to the following conditions:

regular attendance of distance learning activities;
passing the online exams; discussion of the final test (Project Work) in attendance.

The minimum number necessary for the activation of the Advanced Course is 20 students.

Cost

The total cost of enrolment, attendance, final examination and awarding of the final certificate of the Advanced Course is € 1500.00 to be paid in 2 installments:

€ 750.00 (seven hundred and fifty/00) to be paid at the time of registration;
€ 750.00 (seven hundred and fifty/00) to be paid by 31st May 2021.

Teachers of schools of all levels and those in charge of the diocesan offices of sacred art are entitled to enrolment in the Advanced Course at a reduced cost of € 1,000.00 to be paid in 2 installments of € 500.00 with the same deadlines.

Start date

The start of the didactic activities is scheduled for 10 January 2022.
